Are all the doll clothes handmade?
Yes, Stella and Maisie doll clothes are handmade by Viv, the owner, at her home in Gisborne, Aotearoa/New Zealand.
Can I contact Stella and Maisie to get a collection made for a specific doll?
Yes, please contact Stella and Maisie by email (stellaandmaisie@gmail.com) to discuss your requirements. You will be asked for measurements and for a photo of the doll.
Are the clothes made by Stella and Maisie washable?
Yes, Stella and Maisie uses mainly cotton fabric so are able to be washed on regular cotton settings and cotton setting for ironing. Please check the individual product description. Sometimes synthetic fabrics are used, where ironing is not advised, such as for underwear or dressing gowns, this will be stated in the product description.
What does 'individually made' mean?
As all the doll clothes are made by the owner of Stella and Maisie each one is able to be checked as it is made, as well as when it is finished. The seams are checked to make sure they are secure with no missed sections, they are also checked to ensure the seams are bound (zigzagged) to prevent fraying and to make sure there are no loose threads that could get caught on small fingers. The snaps and buttons are also checked to ensure that they are secure.
Why are so many of the clothes just one?
All the Stella and Maisie clothes are made by one person who selects the fabrics and styles individually. Creating individual items keeps the products fresh and unique. Changing fabrics, styles, patterns and sizes ensures the person creating the clothes does not get bored for feel like manufacturer so each items gets the same individual attention to detail ensuring consistent quality.
Is gift wrapping available?
Gift wrapping is not an option at the moment, however, all items are placed in a turquoise organza bag then carefully wrapped in tissue paper and sealed with a sticker before being placed in the courier bag.
What currency are prices stated in?
All prices are stated in New Zealand dollars (NZ$).
Are the dolls included with sales?
No, the dolls are models to show the clothes only, they are not for sale and they are not included in the purchase of any products or items. Stella and Maisie have selected a range of good quality dolls that reflect diversity in our communities and are intended to show dolls types and styles that are popular and appropriate for play.
